  • Description

    Smock Alley Theatre Company was founded in 1984. Named after the the famous Dublin theatre built in 1662, the company was comprised of seven actors (Derek Chapman, Malcolm Douglas, Olwen Fouere, David Heap, Susie Kennedy, Kate Thompson and Gerry Walsh); a designer (Monica Frawley); a musical director (Eithne Tinney); a property master (Gaby Dowling) and a production manager (Jim Doran). The company worked without a director, with a strong emphasis on design and the productions developing through discussion and a consensus of all company members.
