  • Synopsis

    The bitter-sweet story of Ruby Murray, Belfast-born major singing talent and 'Heartbeat Girl' of the 1950s. Intercutting between past and present, the play moves from Ruby's humble beginnings through her path to stardom, and then to her personal struggle between family life with her children, and a deep-rooted need to keep singing. Unhappy and increasingly addicted to alcohol, Ruby makes a difficult choice and leaves her family for a tough life on tour performing for her adoring fans.
