    Federico GarcĂa Lorca

A new version of Lorca's original play of the same name (1934)

  • Synopsis

In this new adaptation, Lorca’s classic play is transplanted from the suffocating heat of Spain to a barren landscape much closer to home, bringing Yerma’s anguish at her childless marriage into heart-breaking focus. As the years pass, and the village women’s chorus of gossip about her grows ever louder, Yerma’s happy relationship disintegrates, forcing her to one last irrevocable act.
