• Synopsis

  The story is set in an old Irish farmhouse where a wealthy Irish landowner is dying; his second wife is only half his age. He has not allowed his wealth to spread ease or comfort. When he dies his young workman is urged by a cunning mother to move in on the vulnerable young widow. Land, greed, sexual ignorance, coupled with the need for redemption are the main themes in this play.
