  A fisherman's family is split apart because the son Seán refuses to follow in his father's footsteps. Then Máirtin, the father, is killed in his boat when he tackles the foreign trawlers who are endangering the fishermen's livelihood. Seán abandons his dreams of going to England and stays home to become a fisherman.
