Synopsis
The play sketches two stories, the first of a young woman wedded by IRA men who falls in love with a young and beautiful farm labourer. He knows too much and meets a brutal fate. The second story takes us back to 1922 with Michael Collins on the loose in the country and prone to fall in love with a young man who is the slave and lover of a Houdini-like illusionist in the middle of nowhere. It is a portrayal of a type of male heroism which is homoerotic but also self-destructive.
