Prin Duignan
Thebes sa Ghréig, roimh aimsir Chríost.
Based on the original 5th century BC play by Sophocles, this play takes place after the battle for Thebes in which both of Anigone’s brothers have been killed. The newly appointed king, Créon, decrees that while one brother is given a respectful burial, her brother Polynices is to be left as carrion for scavengers. Antigone chooses to attempt to bury Polynices, and is brought before Créon as a prisoner.
