Séamus de Bhilmot
Tigh Sheáin Uí Mhathghamhna, Co. Chiarraí (1922)
The play describes a dispute about the ownership of a path during the Irish Civil War. In this family one son Michael is fighting with the Republicans and the other son Tomás is an officer in the Free State army. Despite a vicious war being fought around him, the father is obsessed only with this pathway and in defending it he shoots his own son Tomás dead with his other son's gun.
