Éire agus Talamh an Éisc.
Is leagan níos faide é seo den dráma 'Donnchadha Ruadh' leis an údar céanna. Bhuaigh sé duais an Oireachtais i 1939.
Donnchadh Ruadh Mac Conmara was a traveling poet, born in Cratloe Co Clare around 1715. He is famous for writing Bán Chnoic Éireann Óig. This play describes events in his life, particularly after his expulsion from a seminary and his exile to Newfoundland. He eventually returns to Ireland with great hopes for his future but is disillusioned to find that rumours have spread that he was working as a spy for the English. He eventually seeks refuge in the Protestant community and ends his days as a pathetic, sad figure.
