  Founded in December 2006 and born out of the MA in Drama and Theatre Studies and the MA in Writing programmes at NUI Galway, Mephisto are a Galway-based ensemble of actors and writers. We develop & stage new writing and produce both established & lesser-known texts. Mephisto creates an environment where its writers and performers are encouraged to be dynamic, courageous, intelligent and imaginative. The only criterion for choosing our plays is that they have an elusive magic that empowers the actors and captivates the audience.
