FESTIVALS

Belfast Children's Festival

OVERVIEW

  • Programming Policy

The Belfast Children's Festival is organised by Young at Art, an arts charity for children and young people. The international multi-arts festival presents high-quality, dynamic and innovative work for children between the ages of 1 and 14, their families, schools and youth groups. The Festival is Northern Ireland's largest celebration of children's arts with events for all the family including storytelling, workshops, theatre, exhibitions and puppetry. Each festival offers a programme of national and international work and balances performances with participatory workshops. The Belfast Children’s Festival has now been accredited the prestigious ‘ASSITEJ (the International Association of Theatre for Children set up by the United Nations in 1950) International Festival’– the first festival in Northern Ireland to do so.
