RENATE AHRENS-KRAMER

Renate grew up in Germany and moved to Dublin in 1986. She now works as a freelance writer both in Dublin and Hamburg. Her publications to date include a radio play 'Back to Berlin', produced by RTE in 1991, four radio stories for children (each in seven episodes) for the broadcast series Ohrenbar, produced by SFB, Berlin and a radio feature on Ireland for the broadcast series Panther & Co produced by RIAS Berlin. Since 1991, she has been a scriptwriter for the children's television series, Sesame Street, produced by NDR, Hamburg. In 1989, she was awarded a poetry prize by the city of Herford and in 1994 she and her co-author won a prize for a series of Seasame Street films. Her first children's novel, Katzenleiter Nr. 3/No. 3 Cats' Ladder, which is set in Dublin, was published in Germany in February 1998.
