JOHN MAINS (J.M.) DOODY

1915 - 2011

Born in Waterford, J.M. Doody was educated in Limerick and Dublin and later worked in the Civil Service. His play 'Knocknavain' was joint winner of the Abbey New Writing competition 1953. He also wrote a verse play 'Death Royal',and had a number of short stories published in The Evening Press in 1958 and 1959.
