OLGA FIELDEN

1903 - 1973

Fielden was born in Belfast and educated at Queen's University in the city. After graduating, she moved to London where her novels about Ulster life, Island Story and Stress, were successfully published. She wrote a number of radio dramas for the BBC, notably the prizewinning Liam Don. Her play Three to Go was produced by the Abbey Theatre. As a performer, Fielden was active on the Northern Drama League upon her return from London. She appeared in several notable productions.
