Joe Steve Ó Neachtain is a writer, actor and broadcaster. His plays and scripts have been produced on Raidió na Gaeltachta and on RTÉ. His stage plays have been premiered by An Taibhdhearc. He was awarded the Jacobs Award for his play series Baile an Droichid which was broadcast on Raidió na Gaeltachta from 1985 to 1995. His collection of shortstories Clochmhóin was awarded the Cló Iar-Chonachta Literary award in 1998 and was also nominated for the Irish Times Literary award in 1999. He was awarded the Cló Iar-Chonachta Literary award in 2002 for his novel Lámh Láidir.
