Padraic Walsh is an award-winning writer who works in theatre and fiction.
His play Blue Thunder won the Innovation Award at Vault Festival. A second production ran at the Trend Festival in Rome and toured to Molise, Arezzo and Milan. A third production ran at Dublin Fringe festival, and toured to Longford, Roscommon, Galway, Mayo and Donegal. His adaptation of the play for BBC Radio 4 was The Times’ Radio Pick of the Week, The Guardian’s Audio Pick of the Day, and Drama of the Week on the BBC podcast.
Padraic's radio play Foxes was broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and was shortlisted for Best Original Audio Drama at the BBC Audio Drama Awards and chosen for the BBC’s Drama of the Week podcast. His plays have received public readings at the HighTide Festival Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Abbey Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse and The Ilkley Playhouse. He won the Walter Swan Trust Playwriting Award and was a Writer on Attachment with the Oxford Playhouse.
His fiction has appeared in The Stinging Fly and Cyphers.
