Born to a Balto-German family in what is now Latvia, Eduard Graf Von Keyserling was a dramatist, novelist and leading exponant of literary impressionism. One of his works was translated and adapted by Frank Washbourn-Freund and Padraic Colum for the Abbey in 1922.
