The contradictory story of a national symbol, champion of the oppressed, hard nosed business woman, bitter enemy of the English and - at the end, ally to Elizabeth 1st. A Most Notorious Woman is an exploration of power and gender that connects to the sexual, cultural and political fault lines running through Ireland today.
