Synopsis
John Fraser is a former clergyman who now works for the Lucas family as a hired farm labourer. When the family's married daughter Julia returns to visit from South Africa, together with the husband she only married for security, she and Fraser meet and fall in love. Fraser's belief that their love is wrong leaves him in a dilemma, and after much soul-searching, he decides that he must hold to this conviction.
