Tomás Mac Anna
Sam Thompson
Adapted from Thompson's teleplay of the same name which was first broadcast on the BBC in 1965.
The play opens with the Head of an Orange Lodge in Northern Ireland handing in his resignation. His son, a returned emigrant, has been given the nomination by the lodge with a few objections. However, the son is more liberal than his father, and cannot abide sectarianism of any kind.
