    A tragedy about a father-son conflict. John Shannon is an ex-Head Constable of the R.I.C.; his son is a rebel republican who has been implicated in the murder of a district inspector. Faced with this terrible moral dilemma, the elder Shannon must make a choice between between duty and love.
