Maggie Cronin
A one woman show about the life and times of a “most famous feminine sea captain” Grace O’Malley (Granuaile), 16th century pirate and chieftain. The contradictory story of a national symbol, champion of the oppressed, hard nosed business woman, bitter enemy of the English and - at the end, ally to Elizabeth 1st. A Most Notorious Woman is an exploration of power and gender that connects to the sexual, cultural and political fault lines running through Ireland today.
