Gavin Kostick
The first floor of a corporation house in Cabra, Dublin between September, 1935 and October, 1936.
A Jewish immigrant cabinet-maker and his wife set up his business in Dublin in the 1930s. When his two brothers come to join him he thinks they will be settled for life. The Ash Fire is an investigation of the turbulence between the values of tradition and the lure of assimilation in working-class Dublin.
