Michael West
Sardines is a manic farce which takes place over one hectic evening, as Eva tries to break the news of her impending marriage to her alcoholic mother. The play explores mistaken identity and emotional confusion as Eva tries to cope with a paranoid brother, a neurotic friend and two men called Marc/Mark. The action takes place over three consecutive acts; the timescale for each act is the same but the location is different. By the end of the play, all the misunderstandings become clear in a very crowded bathroom.
