The Going Away Present was originally produced as a double bill with 'Redser' by Billie Traynor (listed separately) as part of 'Womanly Whims', a season of new plays by female Irish writers presented by Tall Tales Theatre Company.
The Going Away Present is a monologue concerning Paloma whose imagination creates fantastical fairy tales and who reckons that the activities of the old man in the flat upstairs are sabotaging her creativity, stifling her imagination and causing her intense pain and hardship.
