  The play is set in the year 2001 on the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Dublin City and in other parts of Ireland.

• Synopsis

  Epic...or the Curse of Macha is based loosely on the myths associated with the Táin Bó Cuailgne. At the top of the Cooley mountains a cull of farm animals disturbs the ancient ghosts on the Plains of Meath. Epic interweaves contemporary stories of crashing computers, factory closures, and the 2001 Foot and Mouth outbreak, showing how wilful public and private actions can send random waves of sorrow through the community and down the generations.
