Michael Collins (1)
A hackney office before November 21st 2000.
Christy Quinn and his young business partner, Jude Caffrey, run a dubious hackney service that never seems to have any cars available. Danny McQuaid might be the owner of seven taxi plates which are not currently in use. McQuaid is in need of help from his old pal, Christy, to get him out of a bit of difficulty in whatever his current business may be. Deviousness, criminality and incompetence become increasingly entangled as the three try to do business without telling the other two exactly what it is they do. Danny is feeling increasingly taunted by Jude's references to young Tracey, who might be Jude's girlfriend, or Danny's daughter, or neither or both. And why, or how, is Christy separated from his badminton-playing wife Catherine? And just who or what is 'The Duke', and why are the gardai busy in their cars tonight?
