Clare Dowling
The Curragh Army Camp
Set in the cramped quarters of an army barracks, The Marlboro Man is a portrait of a modern Irish marriage. Mick and Wanda used to talk. They used to sit up late at night discussing their hopes, fears, disappointments and soccer. When it becomes clear that one of them may be infertile, the silence begins. At times the only talk is on the radio.
