OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Neil Donnelly

  • Setting

Set in a Garda Station in a small town in the midlands.

  • Synopsis

The play explores the pressures and tensions of a zealous policeman’s life. Changes in Irish society have undermined man institutions and relationships, including the once unambiguous and stable role of the Guard in rural life. The play presents a strong portrait of a man no longer supported by the ‘old certainties’ whose mental and emotional conflicts erupt.
