Rita Ann Higgins
Ellen, a woman in middle, who lives in a fantasy world that revolves around memories of a husband who has apparently not been on the scene for some time. The play is charged with tension and conflict - between the ordinary woman's aspirations, her demands on life and the spiritually deadening cave-woman existence she has to lead. But she also rises above her condition by subjecting it to ironic wit.
