Jimmy Murphy
Dublin - the recent past.
Set entirely in the public courtyard of a block of flats, A Picture of Paradise tells the story of a group of homeless people living on the streets of Dublin city. The play portrays this motley crew as ordinary people confronting ordinary problems on a scale of cruelty that is far from ordinary. Plagued by her addiction to gambling and the collapse of her family, one woman has to endure a night of hell as her 'Picture of Paradise' is once more lost from sight.
