John McCann (1)
McCann wrote a sequel in 1957 called 'Give Me A Bed of Roses'.
In this comedy, McCann grapples with the newly emerging middle class in Dublin in the 1950's and their seeming inability to deal with everyday worries. The Kelly family, since the death of the father, have each grown to rely on the eldest brother, dull and serious Henry. WIth all the troubles that his younger siblings cause him, will he ever set a date for his marriage and stick to it?
