The outskirts of a city, present day(1962).
In a small square of a village, the owner of the café, in love with a doctor, is jealous of a sick lady that he is taking care of. The husband of the sick lady keeps announcing calmly from his balcony the phases of her agony. But when she dies he will understand how much he has loved her and that he cannot live without her.
