T.C. Murray
Tess Luttrell rebels against her overbearing father's wishes and deliberately fluffs her exams to be a teacher. She goes to stay at her uncle's house in Dublin and gets a job at a solicitor's office where she has a tryst with a partner there who's engaged to be married. She loses all faith in men, until a kindly middle-aged doctor proposes to her.
