Livingroom in the farmhouse of the Keegan's. The kitchen of Mrs. Desmond's cottage.
A melodramic tragedy about an old widower farmer with an adult son and daughter who marries an attractive young woman. His son also falls for her and acts on this, when his father falls ill. Meanwhile the bitter daughter, herself frustrated in love, fans the flames of jealousy.
