Bob Kelly
In the years preceding the Easter Rising, Leitrim man Sean MacDiarmada was the revolution's primary political organiser, travelling the length and breadth of the country, denouncing the state of government in Ireland and encouraging the formation of volunteer groups. This play imagines what he might have said had he come to Sligo in the early months of 1916, with country and continent awash in turmoil and uncertainty, and his plans for a Dublin uprising already well underway.
