It Come Up Sun

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Joe O'Byrne

  • Synopsis

A dark comedy about three characters who cross paths in a container yard in the Dublin docks. Joe is the night security guard, the king who rules a lonely domain of cranes, trucks and freight. Billy is his fool, the insomniac who sneaks out at night from the local mental institution, and Ania is the princess who arrives from the east in a container. This is a contemporary drama about dislocated people sharing a night together before the sun comes up and reality takes control of the world for another day.
