  • Synopsis

A theatrical telling of the legend Labhrai Lionsaigh, the king with the donkey's ears. To hide his dread secret, Labhrai remains aloof and cold to all, including the princess who loves him. Deep in the forest on a hunting trip, Labhrai asks a young woodcutter to cut his hair. Seeing the king's ears, the woodcutter is bound to keep the king's secret. Unable to confide it even to his mother, the woodcutter becomes withdrawn and secretive. A druid tells the woodcutter to travel alone into the forest and tell it to the Tree of Good Counsel. As the wind rustles the leaves of the tree, the secret is whispered onto the wind.
