Spider

OVERVIEW

  • Playwright

    Geraldine Aron

  • Notes

Spider was originally produced as 'Along Came a Spider' by Capab at The Little Theatre, Cape Town, South Africa in 1978. 'Along Came a Spider' was located in Ireland as a South African aspect would not readily have found a production there in 1978. The play was nevertheless banned for a period by the SABC and when it was re-staged in 1985 (as listed and published) it was re-written as Spider; a shorter version which relocated the action from Ireland to South Africa.
