Maura Laverty
The action takes place in the Nolans' home in Tolka Row, on the outskirts of Dublin.
Laverty's second play is set in a Dublin Corporation housing scheme. The Nolan household in Tolka Row, houses Rita, her husband, son and daughter, her father and her husbands sister. Her father, a retired bargee, kindly and interfering gets on with most in the house, with the exception of Rita's sister-in-law. When the favourite daughter arrives back from England with her husband, room must be made and Rita sends her father to live with other relatives by a stratagem that would not hurt his feelings.
