    A Dingle fisherman tells his life story, from the age of 14, when he was used as an extra in the film Ryan's Daughter, to his early 50s. He recounts his failed marriage, his drinking, a lost love, a tragedy at sea, and his discovery of a friendly dolphin who becomes resident in the town's harbour.
