• Programming Policy

  Backstage Theatre presents a diverse multi disciplinary programme of professional theatre, dance and music of the highest artistic and production standards which challenges and stimulates our audiences.

  The theatre also provides a programme of artist supports, with at least one year-long artist residency each year and a recently introduced programme of short term residencies offering bursaries, access to the theatre and accommodation support for artists to create and develop work.

  Backstage is a member of the Nomad Nasc and LIVE venue networks and has recently engaged with nasc & nomad network capacity building programmes addressing diversity, accessibility & audience development. 

  Backstage also provides a platform for local arts practice, offering high quality arts experiences & creative learning opportunities to a broad spectrum of people in the community and encouraging and facilitating participation in the arts locally both as audience and as active practitioners.
