• Description

  The Globe Theatre Company was founded in the 1940s by Godfrey Quigley and was based at The Gas Company Theatre in Dunlaoghaire, although they performed their work in many theatres including the Gaiety, The Gate, and the Olympia. Norman Rodway became business manager of the Globe in 1954, and acted in many of their productions including playing Christopher Isherwood in I Am A Camera (1956). The Globe ceased operations in 1959, and its final show, A Walk on the Water by Hugh Leonard, became a co-production with Rodway and Phyllis Ryan's company Orion Prodcutions.
