  The Gonzo is an award-winning theatre company based in Cavan Town that produces cutting edge new work reflecting contemporary Ireland. Stories are presented in a highly visual manner, combining dynamic text, imaginative design, live-music and multi-media, creating powerful, shiver-making theatrical experiences for the audience. Since its founding in 2009, the Gonzo has produced over twenty shows in places as diverse as prisons, parks, and barbershops, as well as theatres and festivals nationwide. The company has adapted classic fairytales, revived local legends into a modern context, and produces experimental new plays from playwright Philip Doherty.
