PADRAIC O'FARRELL

1932 - 2003

Padraic O'Farrell was an actor, a director and the author of 33 books including Rebel Heart, a novel about Michael Collins; The Blacksmith of Ballinalee, a biography of Sean MacEoin; and a Who's Who in the Irish War of Independence and Civil War, 1916-1923. He wrote scripts for leading Irish actresses Anna Manahan, Maureen Toal and Maureen Potter and he devised a one-woman show for Eileen Colgan. He was a regular contributor on theatre and the arts to the Irish Times and the Irish Examiner and directed a small touring company, Lyncairn Theatre.
