Ferdia Mac Anna

Ferdia Mac Anna is a playwright and novelist. His novels include 'The Last of the High Kings' (Penguin, 1991), 'The Ship Inspector' (Penguin, 1995) and 'Cartoon City' (Headline, 2000). He edited 'The Penguin Book of Comic Irish Writing' (Penguin, 1996). In 1991 he joined RTÉ as a producer/director and worked on programmes including 'Cursaí', 'Upwardly Mobile' and 'Fair City'. In the 1970s and early 1980s, he was better known as Rocky de Valera, lead singer with The Gravediggers and later The Rhythm Kings.
