Francis Veber

1937 -

Best known in his native France as a screenwriter and film director, Francis Veber has produced such cinematic hits as 'La Cage Aux Folles' (1980), 'Le Diner des Cons' (1998)ajd 'Le Placard' (2000). A number of his films have been remaade in English. 'The Painkiller', a new English-language adaptation of his 1973 play 'Le Contrat', was premiered at the Belfast Lyric in 2011.
