Niall Williams was born in Dublin in 1958. After graduating from UCD he moved to New York in 1980 and worked as a copywriter for Avon Books. He returned to Ireland in 1985 with his wife Chris and they co-wrote four books telling of their experience returning to the cottage in West Clare which her grandfather had left 80 years earlier for a new life in America. His first Novel 'Four Letters of Love' was published in 1997. He has since published a number of other novels including 'As it is in Heaven' 'The Fall of Light', and 'John'. He lives in County Clare.
