Bryan Walter Guinness

1905 - 1922

Born in Suffolk, educated in Eton and Christchurch, Oxford, Guinness was called to English Bar in 1930. He succeeded his father as Lord Moyne in 1944. He wrote his first play for theatre in 1938 (A Fragrant Concubine) and, encouraged by Lennox Robinson, wrote a play for the Abbey (A Riverside Charade) in 1954. He was an enthusiastic patron of the arts all his life.
