Peadar O'Donnell

1893 - 1987

Born in Donegal in 1893, Peadar O'Donnell was a novelist and political activist. He became a full-time organiser with the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union in 1918. His novles include Storm (1925), Islanders (1928), and The Knife (1930) O'Donnell also travelled to Spain and published his account Salud! An Irishman in Spain (1937).
